Tour Details
Tour Time and Meeting Place: 3 p.m. – Guests meet at the Giraffe No. 1 overlook—the viewing area where you encounter the bronze giraffe family sculpture. This is located at the OPPOSITE end of the exhibit from the giraffe feeding deck.
Minimum Age: 6 years old – Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Tour Overview: This tour usually lasts about 1 hour and includes a tour of the Giraffe Barn, an opportunity to feed the giraffes, and, if all guests can walk the uneven path, a visit to the red river hogs. Guests also learn tidbits about giraffe anatomy and how keepers provide enrichment activities. Guests may not take photographs inside the giraffe barn.
ADA Status: This tour is ADA-accessible, but the path to the red river hogs is unpaved, uneven, and not wheelchair accessible.

Safety Notes: To accommodate the needs of our staff and guests, we limit this tour to 10 people. Children younger than 6 years of age may not participate in this tour.
Guests are invited to feed the giraffes but should not attempt to touch or pet them. Guests must follow keeper and guide instructions on feeding the giraffes and should not touch them, run, or make loud noises during their visit to the back areas. We want guests to enjoy these special experiences without stressing the giraffes.
