Meet & Feed the Gorillas
Go behind the scenes with the gorillas and their professional caretakers. During the program, the caretakers conduct a training session with one of the gorillas to demonstrate the trust and cooperation that exists between the animals and their keepers. The caretakers also roll out hands-on materials to help guests better understand the size and power of gorillas. The tour includes the opportunity to toss food to the gorillas.
Tour date: Saturday, March 28, 2020; 1:15 p.m. (Rain date, same time Sunday, March 29, 2020)
Pricing: $104.25 each for Zoo Society members; $119.25 each for non-members
Tour Logistics: This tour lasts approximately 1 hour. Guests meet at the Gorilla viewing area near the large rock.
Tour Requirements: Children must be at least eight years old to attend this tour. Children younger than 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. In order to feed the gorillas, a participant must be able to climb a ladder and must be at least 5 feet tall. Individuals who are shorter than 5 feet, may attend the program but will not be allowed to feed the gorillas. Tour size is limited to six people. Please note that VIP passes do not cover admission fees to enter the North Carolina Zoo.
ADA Status: The tour is ADA accessible, but to participate in the gorilla feeding segment of the program, a participant must be able to climb a ladder and must be five feet tall.
