Join the keeper staff at the Zoo's Mangum to learn the ins and outs of caring for wildlife in this warm, arid habitat. Come prepared to work along side the keepers, helping and watching them provide quality care the animals. This shadowing experience focuses most of its attention on husbandry for birds, reptiles, and amphibians but, depending on the day's work requirement, may also address the enrichment needs of some the desert's mammals.
Shadowing keepers should dress appropriately for this experience. Please arrive wearing closed-toed shoes and work clothing that may get dirty or damaged during the experience. Participants may be required to wear personal. protective equipment (a mask and gloves) working close to certain animal or habitats.
